Girls Only Wearable Tech and Design Summer Camp (Ages 9-12) @ STEM Learning Lab
Aug 19 @ 8:30 am – Aug 23 @ 3:30 pm

In this week-long camp, we will spark our students’ imaginations and foster their creativity as they design, create and iterate their very own tech accessories! Campers will also learn how to code using blocks and JavaScript to create wearable tech using the BBC Micro:Bit. These powerful devices are small and wearable! They feature LED displays, an accelerometer, compass, and so much more! Have you heard of Stitch Kits? This growing phenomenon in the wearable tech world combines Arduino programming with sewable rainbow LED strips and a variety of sensors. Let your imagination run wild when using these Microbits and Stitch Kits, whether they make a flashing heart, smiley/frowny face, fashion scoreboards, and interactive games! Fabrics, circuits, lights, and sewing will be used to create one of a kind decorative and techie fashion pieces.

This camp is perfect for campers who aspire to be designers and creators. Campers and their parents will be amazed what will be accomplished at the end of this exciting, hands-on week of Art/Tech Maker Extravaganza!
